My passion for ceramics started in college when I took my first wheel-throwing class. When I fell in love with ceramics, I decided to minor in Ceramics with my Major being K-12 Art Education. Ceramics and wheel-throwing is a constant evolving of skills and techniques, so I love to push my shapes and skills as I go along. That is how I found my wave mug designs and have since evolved them.

I love the idea of each piece being unique, and waves are each unique in the natural world. That's why each mug's waves are all different from the next, though they may look the same.

Glazing is another passion as I love to find combinations that give the vibe of water or create a cool new look.

I started Stone Tortoise Pottery last year when I had an over abundance of pieces and was being told by many people that others would love to see my stuff and encouraged me to sell online. I first started out at a local farmers market before venturing into the craft fair world. It is my passion to grow as an artist and watch my pottery leave in the hands of people who appreciate it.

I recently started my journey with ceramics as a way to relieve some stress and by encouragement from my wife. Working with hand-building techniques, I have found a passion for hand-building unique and fun pieces.

I got the idea for my gnome collection after accompanying my wife at a craft sale. Someone had sewn felt gnomes, and that inspired me to create ceramic ones. Now it has grown into each gnome having its own personality.

I also make gravity incense burners where the smoke falls like water and has a peaceful look.
